Mindfulness in Practice
Mindful teaching: strategies for emotional well-being
Service Description
Course Description Why do we practice mindfulness? We practice mindfulness not to become masterful meditators, but to have a better balanced life. Meditation takes on different forms for everyone – for some it’s walking, being on their own, having intentional conversations, giving their loved ones their complete attention. . .there are so many ways to be personally and collectively mindful, and this is part of its beauty. In this series we’ll be approaching mindfulness as an everyday practice in a holistic way, that is, through the notion of ‘whole self wellbeing’ and its pillars: nature, community, creativity, silence / solitude, integrative medicine, and play. Such pillars and the 10 qualities of mindfulness will allow us to appreciate that what we are looking for is right here in the present moment. Our breath is the vehicle to greater mindfulness, it reminds us that we have the power to pause and simply be.
